Autumn To Winter

Autumn to Winter here in Switzerland is really beautiful. The photographs above were taken from my room window. I come from a place where skyscrapers covered the sky, but here on top of the mountain  where my campus is located I can see the sun shinning through the clouds.

During the winter, the whole mountain get covered by a thick fog and snow starts falling pretty heavily.  If it snows was at least one whole day from morning till night, we'll have enough snow to play for the next day.

Thankfully, I will be returning to the university on September for my Bachelor and I will get to enjoy the snow again with my friends.

K-pop During Exams

The exam periods here at the Swiss Hotel Management School are considered quite stressful but thankfully for my exams, I only had 3 papers. The first was Facilities & Design, the second was Human Resource Management and the last was a online French 2.

Above are 2 videos that I watched most of the time, although I agree the songs are not new ones but they really helped me to relax during my study period. The first is Shinee (Hello) and the second Sistar19 (Ma Boy).

Sometimes, while listening to these songs I would be able to finish a few chapters including writing short notes in 2 to 3 hours. Thank you K-pop for being there when I needed some relaxation music.

Majestic Serai Hotel Presentation

The video above is related to a Management Project assignment that was given to my group at the Swiss Hotel Management School.  It was used as a promotional mix strategy to promote our hotel called the Majestic Serai that was to built in Bunaken Island, Indonesia.

We had Powerpoint presentation slide prepared for this as well. Honestly speaking, I believe that my group did a really good job in convincing the investors into investing with us. I'll try to upload the Powerpoint slide soon, but I doubt that my leader would want it up online for others to see.

Oh! The pictures you see on the video are all taken from Google, nothing is real and please don't call the number because its a fake and so is the website at the end of the video.

Christmas Gala Dinner 2012 in Swiss

The Christmas gala or also known as the Christmas ball is a yearly tradition here at the Swiss Hotel Management School. During this night, lecturers and staff would be the ones to serve you while the students should dressed up formally with mask for dinner, dance and enjoyment.

It would normally be held at 7pm till 11.30pm. As you can see from the pictures above, that I'm the 3rd person in the whole campus to actually wear a fully white suit with a black shirt and tie on the inside,  for the event. For this event, the food was really amazing and we had a large variety from fresh seafood and meat products. There was also an assortment of beverages like wine, beer and soft drinks.

Well, I didn't bring my camera for this event, because it was in my room charging as I had used up its energy for another event, thus I had to use my friend's camera and take most of this pictures. Well, I noticed that many people were getting ready thoroughly on my floor for this event, not to mention myself as well. I had to be really thorough because I brought myself a date to event, and she was dressed really beautiful. The event was awesome and the music was lively because of the amazing deejay we had. If I remembered well, we all danced in the middle of the hall in a centipede type of movement.

The event lasted till 11.30pm and the clearing began. However, once the clearing was completed, everyone ran straight to the club on our campus and started partying till midnight. I joined as well on the dance floor with my friends. Thankfully, I would be returning to the campus on September and I hope that this year's Christmas ball is going to be a successful one like this.

Chocolate/Cheese/Medieval Visit

The chocolate/cheese/medieval excursion was also organized by the Swiss Hotel Management School. As always, it was held during a Saturday and definitely I would participate because I like exploring different parts of a country.

For this trip, I travelled together with the PGD's because not many 3rd years decided to join for this excursion. We left the campus by bus down the normal winding hill and if I'm not mistaken it took around 2 hours to reach the chocolate factory. At the chocolate factory, we ate many free samples, stole some and even bought tons of high quality chocolates at really cheap prices. We really had an enjoyable time there eating and taking photographs.

The second stop would be the cheese factory. It was really boring because there was nothing much to see as the factory was quite small. Thus, we just roamed around the area and taking photographs on railways tracks. Lastly, we stopped by a medieval town just 15 minutes away from the cheese factory. The town was amazing and it reminded me of the stories involving knights and dragons from the books that I read during my childhood.

The town had its own castle with a clock tower but you have to pay so to enter, so why waste money. The panoramic view from the castle and medieval town was really fantastic and acts perfectly as a Facebook cover for your profile. In addition, there is a small church that looks pretty scary but unfortunately it was close that day, but if you get the chance to go in please do.

World of Hospitality 2012

The World of Hospitality is a yearly tradition here at the Swiss Hotel Management School. Thankfully, I was able to participate in one as a volunteer. Yes, I volunteered for photography as always.

This time I was given a specific location to handle the photography and that was the at the reception where we had a photo booth set up specifically for this event. My duty was not only to take photographs but to also transfer them into USB and present it to the guest immediately. If there were no guest at the reception photo booth, and during my free time I would walk around the event hall or different parts of the university, taking random photographs and talking to rest of the photography crew on their progress for the day.

From this event, I was able to meet many important people that I will not disclose their photos on this blog. My apologies for not putting up the photos, but I can say that meeting them was a really big honor for myself. In addition, I am thankful because I got to work with a great team of people here at the photo booth together with another professional photographer, Ben.

I would be retuning to the university this September, and I hope to participate in this event again as a photographer and maybe this time as a video director. The event was really a great success despite the heavy falling blizzard that day.

Birthday Greetings

Here at the Swiss Hotel Management School, my culture during a birthday is through giving them a video of the greetings from friends and myself. For me, the video is a priceless gift and can easily be treasure for life because its memorable and unique.

The video above is of my friend, Tannaz Babapour and these are the greetings from us the 3rd years mainly to her.

My apologies, I do not post video of my friend's birthday greetings because most them tell me not too and I respect their decision and privacy.
